DES SCOTT - Chief Executive
Des Scott was appointed Interim Chief Executive following the resignation of Mark Russell in July 2019 and is now Chief Executive. In this role, he leads a team of over 500 people, working across the British Isles and Ireland.
Des has been part of Church Army for almost 30 years, starting initially as a youth worker in charge of a youth project in London. He has also led The Marylebone Project and the Initial Training Team, delivering the change from a three-year residential model of training to the current, part-time model. Up until recently, Des has had oversight for Church Army’s Operational Team, as well as responsibility for the oversight of The Marylebone Project, Amber Project and Cardiff Residential Services, as well as direct line management of many of the central team including Finance, HR and Services. He has held the post of Deputy Chief Executive since 2012.
Des grew up in Northern Ireland and came initially to London to study Theology. He also has a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and a Masters in Business Administration.
